The naneos partector 2 is the world’s smallest multimetric nanoparticle detector. The partector 2 uses dual non-contact detection stages to measure not only lung-deposited surface area like the standard partector, but also particle number concentration and average particle diameter. There has been a significant number of incidents and fatalities involved with work baskets and EWP’s across a wide range of different industries.
There are 2 main reasons for these accidents occurring, either;
Lack of vision of what’s actually occurring by the IT/MEWP operator in relation to the work basket position to obstructions. Or;
The failure of communication of clear and concise instructions between basket workers and machinery operators.
All industries that employ these systems of work need to find a safe, innovative solution to mitigate the risk of these incidents occurring. As a part of the Hierarchy of Control, there have been a lot of Administrative Controls put in place to try and provide a remedy to this issue, we need to start looking at higher levels of control to prevent these incidents occurring such as an Engineering Control.
